In this special edition of Transformation Tuesday, we spoke with Anna Zhaney, the head coach for Vegan Fitness Redefined and a nutrition expert. However, Anna wasn't always plant-based. Before she discovered healthy vegan meals, Anna suffered from hormonal acne and a plethora of other hormonal issues. Once she gave up meat and dairy, she was shocked when she looked in the mirror.

Life before discovering a healthy vegan diet
Encouraged by a friend, Anna watched "101 Reasons to Go Vegan" on Youtube. Right away, this caught Anna's interest. Just one year before watching the video, Anna had decided to try being a pescatarian. Because of this, she felt as though she was already partway vegan and that the transition would be easier. After watching The Need To Grow, a documentary about diet, Anna was convinced.
Here's what happened to Anna's body after going plant-based
The first thing Anna noticed was that she had increased energy. She no longer felt sluggish, and it was quite noticeable. The next thing that stood out, after Anna switched over to healthy vegan meals, was that her skin began to clear up.
Whole foods: Healthy vegan meals
Anna noticed a huge difference between when she first went vegan, to when she started to eat vegan whole foods. She started adding more greens, vegetables, and fruits to her diet while limiting chips, vegan meats, vegan cheeses, and other processed foods. At this point, the transition was even more noticeable. Feeling better than ever, Anna went off of the medications that were prescribed to her for her hormone imbalances and acne.
Anna's doctors had originally discouraged her from going plant-based, but after they saw the results they were shocked and confused. Unfortunately, not all doctors receive education in the field of nutrition and don't fully understand the connection between dairy and imbalanced hormones. Luckily, Anna took matters into her own hands and decided to get an education in nutrition.
Anna's life now
Anna now educates others about nutrition and coaches them to reach their athletic and health goals. She encourages people to set incremental goals that will impact their lives in the long run.
